We are seeking an experienced carpenter/foreman to join our team.

We are looking for someone who is interested in a long-term role, and who is willing to grow with our business. We are a family business so it is important that we find the right person to join our team.

Key responsibilities:

Supervise residential construction projects
Undertake construction activities including scheduling and task allocation
Work with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project milestones are completed within agreed time frames
Complete site inspections to ensure a safe working environment and to identify and address any health & safety issues

To be successful in this role, you need to:

Be a qualified carpenter with a minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience
Excellent knowledge of construction methods, materials and health & safety requirements
Be able to confidently read and interpret construction plans
Show initiative to complete work to a high standard within agreed time frames
Take pride in your workmanship
Have excellent communication skills to work with our team and our clients
Able to work independently and use initiative
Have leadership skills for working with apprentices
Be enthusiastic and energetic with a problem-solving attitude
Be honest, trustworthy and reliable
Have a valid NZ driver’s license
Have NZ residency or a valid NZ work visa
